The Church
We are community Church in Ashe County North Carolina. We meet weekly for Sunday School and Worship on Sundays. There is also a Bible Study/Prayer Meeting on Wednesday night. The Scripture is the basis for our teaching. We believe in Salvation thru Jesus Christ only, and that He, as both man and God walked on earth, was crucified, died and was buried, rose and ascended, and is now sitting at the right hand of God, willing to make intercession for us.
Church History
Welcome Home was formed in 1935 as community people saw the need for a church. Welcome Home was formed from Shiloh Baptist Church (a name change) which was started much earlier. A new church was organized and met in a building across the road from the current church. Current membership is about 175, with attendance averaging 80-90. Pastor Lonnie Jones just started his 25th year as pastor.
